Office 365 Proplus Skype for Business Issues
We just bought annual plan for Office 365 Proplus and our major reason was to use Skype for Business which was included. I'm very new to Skype for Business. Below is what I've done so far:
1. Created Office 365 users at the office.com portal and assigned licenses to them
2. Initially used the default domain (abc.onmicrosoft.com) to create users
3. Later created a custom domain for the company in the form of abc.com and made it default and changed the users to be @abc.com from previous @abc.onmicrosoft.com
4. Installed Office 365 ProPlus on some client systems
5. Created the 2 CNAME records required for Skype for Business at abc.com domain host
6. Created the 2 SRV records required for Skype for Business at abc.com domain host
7. Both the CNAME and SRV records created above are resolving properly at the DNS host when tested.
8. When we launch Skype for Business client on our systems and try to sign-in, we get this error: “Skype for Business couldn’t find a Skype for Business Server for abc.com…………………….”
The status of abc.com domain @ Office 365 Admin centre>domains is "Possible service issues" and further navigation gives the DNS errors below:
Incorrect DNS records
Any errors are highlighted below.
Nameservers used: ns1.thirdpartyhost.com, ns2.thirdpartyhost.com
If there are errors, correct the corresponding DNS records for abc.com at your DNS host. (Not your DNS host?)
After correcting these records at your DNS host, refresh the page using the 'Refresh' button above to update issue count.
MX records
One or more of these records haven't been added correctly yet. step-by-step instructions
Important: if you already have an MX record for this domain at your DNS host, changing your MX records to the values below will redirect new incoming email to your new email addresses, and email will no longer be delivered to your previous email service.
After you change the MX records, if you want to access your old email through your new email account, you must migrate the old email messages.
