What is TCP ping?

I am looking more like that is a TCP ping? ( not ICMP ping which ping uses by default ), appreciate any guidance/hint here

It's quite literally how it sounds. It uses the TCP protocol to ping a host. It's useful in instances where ICMP is blocked.
