We want to disable some standard components from Dynamics 365 for Sales including Leads, Quotes and Products.

How should we remove these buttons from the ribbon menu to stop users from accessing them?

Althought it is possible to remove buttons (you could use a third-party tool like the Ribbon Workbench https://www.develop1.net/public/rwb/ribbonworkbench.aspx) you should instead consider modifying security roles. If a user doesn't have access to something, Dynamics won't show it in the user interface. So review the roles you've assigned to users and set the access to Leads, Quotes and so on to None for all privileges. I suggest copying the out of the box roles rather than editing them.

Hi,

If you need to remove components like Leads, Opportunities for the user access, I suggest you go for inbuilt site map designer- https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/magnetismsolutionscrmblog/archive/2017/03/08/editing-the-site-map-in-dynamics-365-using-the-built-in-site-map-designer

Or you can go for site map editor inside XrmToolBox to remove links to those areas- https://github.com/MscrmTools/XrmToolBox/releases

Thanks Feridun and Rikin.

Removing access is indeed the straight forward method.

The inbuilt site map editor do help me in further simplify the menu.

Andrew
