Windows Live Mail 2012 - Calendar

I have a client...most of them are seniors...who uses Windows Live Mail.
All of the sudden he can no longer create an event in his calendar...it is grayed out. I tried a repair which did not resolve the situation.

I know this program is almost obsolete but he would like to use it.

Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks,
Magas

I tested it with one of my Gmail accounts, connected to the gmail servers...but when it is signed into WLM I can not add new events into the calendar. When I sign out of WLM I can add new events. I know he is signed into WLM but I believe if I sign him out he will probably lose his calendar. Seeing if that calendar can be exported...as he doesn't remember his WLM password.

He doesn't remember his password and we will have to reset it. He doesn't have Outlook on his computer but could use Outlook.com.
I'll keep you posted on what he decides to do.
Thank you!
