Dual Power Supply Workstation?

I have a requirement come in for a workstation with redundant power supplies (a single PS with a UPS won't suffice). Other than that, there are no other unusual requirements that can't be met by the regular HP Z2x0 they normally get.

I found that Dell offers a rack-mount workstation with dual power, but it's very expensive compared to a regular workstation and rack-mount is not really practical for this application. Are there any other choices for a desktop workstation? Custom build is a final option, but would like to see what is available commercially first.

Thanks!

In this case, client is insisting on having the specifications they asked for.

Thanks for the ideas, but still open to more ideas.

As an alternative, I am wondering if buying a second PC to keep on hot standby would be cheaper.

Thanks Mal. That is roughly what HP suggested to me as well, since they don't have an actual workstation class machine with the specs I wanted.

Meeting with users on Tuesday to discuss this. Going to try and focus less on WHAT the spec says and instead understand WHY it says what it does.

For the purposes of a custom built box, I did find a double power supply that was able to fit in the space of a single unit. However would still have consider keeping a spare PS around since this is not a normal unit and depends on a small company to keep producing them if one fails.

However it's all for naught, since given the additional cost, I was able to convince them sticking to this spec wasn't the best choice.

This is all still good information and worth keeping for future reference though.
Thanks for the update and I was very happy to help you.
