Command "snmp-server enable traps snmp linkdown linkup"
Hi, Anyone can take a look at the commands and snmp-server enable traps snmp linkdown linkup. I do not know why it cannot work. Do you think the configuration on it is correct? Please see the below
MySW(config)#do sh run | i snmp
snmp-server community TSHOOT RO
snmp-server location Amsterdam
snmp-server contact info@networ.com
snmp-server enable traps snmp linkdown linkup
snmp-server host 10.0.0.123 version 2c TSHOOT
The switch and PC(Solarwinds installed) can ping each other. Ip address 10.0.0.123 is the PC ip address to connect to the switch. Solarwind can see the switch. But the issue is after several interfaces are shutdown in switch, why no any change can be seen on Solarwind side?

Hi Max, Thank you for your reply. I am testing Catalyst3560. It does not have this command to enter for this switch. Please see picture attached

Hi,
yes sorry that command works on WLC but not switches ...
I have found this on cisco support:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/network-management/catalyst-3560-quot-snmp-trap-link-status-quot/td-p/724940
what I believe you want to read is the following, interesting point of view which i agree totally (monitor specific ports, not everything) and wich might indirectly solve your issue:
If you would monitor particular interface link :
Command:
Router(config)# snmp-server trap-source ethernet 2/1
If you would monitor ROUTER..with only one interface than .. create one loopback
interface and monitor that.
hope this helps
