access 2013 auto generate code by prompting when adding new button controls to a form

Hi Folks
How does one configure access 2013 to auto generate code by prompting when adding new button/dropdown controls to a form.
Mine always used to ask what I wanted to do .e.g open form / report / query parameters etc. Now it is dumb. (just places the button and does nothing)

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately this is set correctly, so not the cause.
Fortunately, after shutting down this machine for the week-end, and rebooting it today, and after working on this database on another machine, the problem has gone. - guess we'll never know :-)
