Hi,

It depends on what issues you are facing with your VMWare Vsphere, VMWare provide articles for most of the common issues. For some issues you have to collect the logs to either analyse yourself or send it to VMWare support. Log file location :- https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1021806?language=en_US

The most useful is the command line utility (ESXCLI & POWERCLI). You can use the bash shell to connect locally or use tools like PUTTY to connect through SSH port  remotely to execute the commands (either to view or to configure). Some helpful commands below (http://www.tomsitpro.com/articles/vmware-esx-esxi-troubleshooting,2-810.html)

Some thirdparty common management tools in the below link which may help (http://www.kendrickcoleman.com/index.php/Tech-Blog/a-list-of-free-vmware-vsphere-tools.html).

Thanks,
