why is using distribution and security list in the same group

What problems come about creating a distribution\security group? I was told this is possible to create a distribution\security group

You should separate Role Groups and Delegation groups as per

Otherwise, you are building unnecessary dependencies and someone might give permissions unintendingly when they simply wanted to add person to a DL
