Restore an Office 365 mailbox

We use AD Connect when creating users in our on-prem Active Directory.  The account will then be synced to Office 365 and create user there as well as their mailbox.  

We have recently removed a user account and mailbox and want to restore.  I recreated her AD account and sync.  When I go to Office 365->deleted users and try to restore, it is saying there is a conflict.

What is the proper way to restore?

Please advise.

The correct way would be to recover the account from the AD Recycle bin, not create a new one - this generates a new object, with new objectID, and thus it will not match against the object you have in O365. You can also recover the mailbox directly, as detailed here:
