I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 tablet - WiFi.

My payroll company has a kiosk to clock in/out.

I would like to use my HID proximity Card that I use now for access control to open office doors to login to the kiosk.

What HID reader and software can I get to plug into my tablet and how would my employee ID be recognized from my card.

I was researching HID tech recently with regards to Android. It's a proprietary and robust system. I don't know of any readers for Android but the HID website might have more info that I'm missing. https://www.hidglobal.com/products/readers
Alternately you might try contacting HID directly.

Can you elaborate on the above?

From my knowledge, there is no proximity card reader for Android OS.

It is unwise to change any existing security setup just because you have got a free Android tablet.

Normally, we will use a RFID card instead of a proximity card as we will use an Android tablet with NFC for your use case.
