File SeRestore from a ShadowCopy volume without original source
Hi all,
We have a situation where we have a drive where all the user's data is saved (F:) and automatically we have shadow copy enabled and it stores it on another drive (V:)
We have to perform a restore (ex. 01/11/17) and unfortunately on that day the backup has failed.
We have a backup of V:\ drive for that particular day (01/11/17) but not for the F:\ drive. The backup we have for the F:\ drive is that of (07/11/17).
Is there a way to perform a restore?

We get it - no one likes a content blocker. Take one extra minute and find out why we block content.
What happened to the F: drive? Did it fail? Did someone delete a file and you need to recover? If the F: drive is still accessible, then right click on the f: drive and bring up the properties. Then go to the Previous versions tab and you'll be able to look through the previous copies.
You should understand Volume Shadow Copy - the "backups" are BLOCK level, not file level. You can't browse the V: drive for files because the data "backed up" is all blocks and not full files.
