"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

aruba controllers running AOS 8.X?
Do you need one cert for 802.1X auth and Cpative Portal or Captive Portal only
cciedreamerAuthor Commented:
Controllers running software version 6.5.0.4
We need certificate only for captive portal
Jakob DigranesSenior advisorCommented:
then you can use wildcard if you like.

Any further help please ?
Jakob DigranesSenior advisorCommented:
sorry ... Yes! you can use wildvcard. But you cannot use the wildcard for 802.1X authentication, only Captive Portal

If I need to use SAN certificate, as I have one just need create a new CSR and get from public CA
Jakob DigranesSenior advisorCommented:
you need a certificate with subject which is FQDN for the Clearpass - installed on clearpass, and a certificate with captiveportal-login.yourdomain.com installed on both aruba controllers.

when you say load balanced, do you med you have distributed APs using LMS and backup LMS?
