Exchange 2013 DAG Maintainence

Hi Experts,

I have a Exchange 2013 environment configured in a DAG.  I have two CAS servers and two database servers.

I would like to perform some Windows maintenance (updates) on the servers but would like to get some input on the best way to go ahead with this item.

I am running Windows Server 2012 R2 for the operating system.

I have not done this before so, I am doing my diligence to make sure I do not break the DAG environment.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Just make sure the witness stays online while you do maintenance.  Then all you need to do is shift the databases to one of your servers via EMC or shell

I would suggest running a Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStaus to ensure that the CopyQueue and ReplayQueue are both at zero before rebooting.
