What is the correct process to upgrade to PowerShell 5 within Server 2012 R2?

I have already downloaded and tried to install Power shell 5 but I get messages saying that this update is not for your computer.

Any reason you aren't installing 5.1?

Windows Management Framework 5.1 includes updates to Windows PowerShell, Windows PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC), Windows Remote Management (WinRM), Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).
