Do you mean when you hover your mouse over a question title?

This question was recently discussed in another EE forum here

Hi nobus,

Are you describing the 1:1 Tech Help window on the right side of question pages?

You should be able to minimize it by clicking the - button and it will stay minimized.

e.g.

Let me know if this works or not.

i don't want it minimised - i simply don't want it - nor any other popups ----
EE seems to get infected more than any suspect site nowadays

Understood.  I will pass along your feedback about this tech help window to our development teams.

Can you elaborate on other popups you're seeing that are causing friction for you?  A screen shot helps me understand the problem you're experiencing.

Okay, click on your picture on the top right then chose settings and disable these.

@ITSysTech

nobus is describing the tech help window that's on all question pages.  It cannot be disabled in Settings or at all, but can only be minimized to the bottom right of the question page screen; it will stay minimized permanently until you click the + sign to expand the window again.

Glory to nobus for bringing this discussion forth.  There is too much clutter and I've got 8 AdBlock filters active on this very page.

If EE wants to sell aggressively to paying customers, fine.  But experts should be able to opt out of a lot of things; we're not here to buy services.  (To forestall the next question, an expert is someone who has achieved any category rating.)

i could not have worded it better Dr Klahn!
i still wish they had kept their era 2000 lookout, instead of the more modern gui

Agreed.

Especially when you are assessing this forum in a smartphone like me. It is too troublesome to minimize the pop-up and the pop-up made me not possible to type.
