Mirotik Routers?

Does anyone know anything about these? I just got a new client that has one of these in place and before I recommend upgrading I wanted to do some home work.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What exactly do you want to know? They do work pretty well from what I've seen, but do have a learning curve to them. If you're going to recommend a replacement, I guess the question we need to pose to you is what you feel the Mikrotik is lacking.

My concern is weather it's speced to handle 200 x20 mbps connection and support 15 PCs. I have never seen or heard of this brand before and I need to setup VPN access to Server 2106 VPN. I can probably figure out the firewall and port forwarding but didn't want to waste the time if I needed replace the router

The Microtik routers/routerboards are relatively good value for the price ... the software has just about everything in it you would need, at no extra cost (in combinations that many other manufacturers do not even provide for extra license cost). Throughput is pretty good, do, depending on the model you get. Not sure I understand your "200 x20 mbps" notation ... what sort of line/links do you actually want to operate on?
VPN will work pretty flawlessly for just about all common protocols and then some ... (IPSEC, PPTP, OpenVPN, GRE, ...)

Honestly you shouldn't have a problem. Your problem seems to be more in familiarity than in functionality. I would honestly take the time to learn and try it, then assess whether you have cause to replace it.
