Fix Win 10 clipboard issues without having to reboot

I support Windows 10 users who intermittently have issues with the Windows 10 clipboard.

Sometimes items that are placed within the Windows 10 clipboard are not able to be pasted.

So far this issue has only been able to be fixed by rebooting the operating system.

What else can be done to fix this issue without having to reboot the Windows 10 operating system?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Save your open files.

Open Task Manager.

Select Windows Explorer in the Processes tab, and click on the Restart button.

Windows Explorer is built-in and while I understand your posts (both) above, you should not have to restart Windows Explorer.

Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator and run dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

This may likely fix the problem.
