The amount of bass on my computer needs to be cut in half. The voices are sometimes so bassy that they cannot be understood. Also, this same computer does not seem to give me the option of telling it that i am listening via headphones. It is defaulting on full range speakers.
computer: Dell M4800 Workstation / Laptop 64 bit
Opsys: Windows 10
Memory 8 gig
Sound card: Realtec (Net indicates that  I am using the latest driver)

Note: I am a patient in a Hospital that could delay me in responding in a normally timely manner. I cannot tell when I can be online due to a multitude of medical reasons. Please be patient if need be.

use the Sound settings: All settings ―> Devices ―> scroll down to Sound settings anc select

the Sound panel will open, and select the Playback tab. you should now see the choices to play back sounds on your PC - Speakers, Headphones, etc.

select Headphones and set to default

now click on the Properties button to open the speaker/headphones properties panel

click on the Enhancements tab to adjust

you can try the Equalizer option and select a Setting option to your likingSound

In addition to the above suggestion, That settings depend on the audio driver. If the win 10 driver does not support equalizing there will not be a tab under advanced.  There may be a tone tab that has basstreble.


Note: you can also change the Bass via the Player EQUALIZER,
