Transfer pictures from old phone(Note 5) to new phone (Note 8)

Hi,
I have a USB OTG drive on which I downloaded pictures from previous phone, Note 5. I then copied it to PC. From PC I copied back to new phone. Unfortunately, in PC the pics date modified to date it was transferred. So all pics on my phone have same date. How do I resolve this without a duplicate set of pics on phone? The USB OTG drive does not work on Note 8.

You'll need to use a command line util called Robocopy.  It is included in Windows 10.

Instructions are here  http://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/windows/move-files-folders-without-losing-time-date-data-3507897/  and  https://www.petri.com/copy-files-preserve-timestamp

Not pretty if you're not familiar with the command line.

You need to buy the adapter above to connect to your OTG usb drive.

Or

You need to use Samsung Smart Switch app to do the data transfer.

Robocopy does not work if file is existing in target folder. Which is the case here. I need to overwrite existing pics on my phone which have date screwed up, I got the OTG working on Note 8.

Possibly RichCopy then  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2009.04.utilityspotlight.aspx

I think this is the other util recommended for this purpose.

exiftool is easiest by far. I changed time stamp of all pics on my pc using this. The created date is copied to modified date. I uploaded that to my new phone.
