I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. You don't have to uninstall sql standard first. You can do in-place upgrade to enterprise edition. Just run the installer and you'll have option to upgrade to enterprise version.
