I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You could try something like this if you just want to reduce the no of characters in each cell down to 200.
    With Range("A1:A20") ' adjust as required
        .Value = Evaluate("LEFT(" & .Address & ",200)")
    End With

Do you want to prevent users from entering more than 20 characters ?
Or squeeze cell values to 20 characters afterward ? (wich is an effective data loss).
