BGP and Traffic engineering

Dear Experts,

Need an advise on BGP along with traffic engineering. We have a simple setup with two ISP links and we have done a simple BGP peering using eBGP with both the ISP's so that if one fails the other one takes over.

Now my question we need to do a further BGP peering with one of a customer who would need us to allocate few subnets and want to publish their subnet via peering. Also we have a new requirement of controlling the bandwidth allocated by per subnet or per IP address and also meter the data consumption.

What is the best way to achieve this? Any overall architecture recommendation along with hardware we might need for this. We also have the requirement to do any changes without any downtime.

Thank you in advance
Best Regards

Once you try something made for this application it's hard to go back to doing it yourself. Executive suite management hardware now owned by yardi

What hardware do you have now? We do all this with VeloCloud, but you need a few min of downtime to insert the box inline...

Hello Aaron,

We at present has Cisc 2901 routers, HP Managed L2's, Firewalls and hyperv cluster running behind these.

Let me know what best we can do meanwhile I will go through some info on velocloud as suggested by you.

Thanks

Are you running executive suites or something like that? I believe the 2901 can do most of what you want, except the metering and visibility. Are you food with a separate tool for that or are you looking for an integrated solution replacing the 2901?

Hello Aaron,

Regarding executive suites I really didn't get your question. If you are asking what we are running behind the network we are running a small cloud platform. I am good with a separate tool. Please also share some info on an integrated solution replacing 2901 too. But most likely a separate tool should work best for our situation.

Looking forward
