After changing "group on" field criteria in Access 2013 report, sub totals no longer work

I have a Microsoft Access report I created long ago that needed to have sub-totaling criteria changed. After changing the criteria, the sub-totaling no longer works. I even changed the "group on" field criteria back to it's original setting and it still no longer sub totals. What do I need to do?
