Randon Daily Disconnects from Ultimate Terminal Emulation Software Across VPN
lately our terminal emulation vendor has been pointing to our network stating that the network is causing these disconnects either due to packet loss or network disconnections.
we have been reviewing our logs from each site and show no disconnections from any of the sites
network consists of Cisco firewall at Server side with Fortinet vpn connections to each location
location can only see server side, like hub and spoke; no external location can see each other only server side firewall can reach location and vice versa
this has only been happing the last few months with server side vendor claiming its the network due to packet loss as this is what they are used to
we do not see packet loss above 1%
how can we determine the culprit?
tired of chasing ghosts on the network

I had a similar case with Fortinet...i changed the modem...problem resolved....what and why i don't know....some maybe you will get lucky just by changing your Internet point of connection....
ASKER
you just changed out the firewall and that resolved the problem?
I changed the adsl modem...i don't know how you connect to the Internet...in my case we had ADSL
ASKER
no this is 50B connected to ISP router
6MB Multiple T1's
6MB Multiple T1's
Have you been able to figure out the saturation of the connection at the time the drops occur?
ASKER
when you say saturation, do you mean how much bandwidth is in use?

reviewing our Cisco firewall config at the hub of the network; with over 10 FB50B units at each remote site
I am leaning more towards an issue on the server side: Unix box with SSH term emulation through the vpn tunnels
