Microsoft Office identified a potential security concern

User received the "Microsoft Office has identified a potential security concern" for:

c:\program files (x86)\common\Microsoft shared\smart tag\metconv.dll

Options:  Trust all documents from this publisher OR Enable application add-in OR Disable application add-in

Do you know why the user received this message?  Supposedly it came up when she was restarting her computer.

I have attached the print screen of the message but it may be very small to read so that was why I typed out the message.

Is this for Office 2007? Navigate to that DLL and check the properties. The DLL should have the file attributes, or a later version of the file attributes as illustrated below.

If not, try installing this hotfix.
Otherwise, ensure that the Office product has all the required updates installed.

Hi Dirk,

So sorry to forgot to state this is Office 2010 32-bit, on a Windows 7, 64-bit computer.  I have not checked the updates on the user's computer; will do that later today.  However, we pushed out some updates to all users' computers a couple of weeks ago, which included this computer and the updates were forced updates so she should have the latest.

Thanks.
This is for a different DLL, but the error is the same. See the suggestions in the following thread: Microsoft Office has identified a potential security concern. There is another thread suggesting changing the setting for Apply macro security settings to installed add-ins. I'm not sure if that resolved the issue though.
This was back in 2017 so not sure.  Sorry but thought I had said to close this so I do apologize for responding to this.
