Dell B3465dnf Printer - Doesnt scan

A person contacted us with an older Dell B3465dnf printer - the printer works fine but when they put a paper in the ADF, it says its Scanning but doesn't pull the paper thru.  Also if you put the original down on the glass, it will scan/copy but only a half of the page.  We looked over it in general but really didn't see anything?

Did you try below link from Dell support ?

This issue can be resolved by making changes to the Multi-Function Printer (MFP) scan profile.
https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln300899/printer-will-not-scan-from-automatic-document-feeder?lang=en

Also make sure that you have installed the latest drivers.

Do you initiate the scan from the printer's front panel, or from the PC?

If scanning from the PC, you may need to tell the scan driver to use the ADF instead of the flatbed.

For the flatbed, you will also have to tell it the size of the paper to scan. Most scan drivers have a "Preview" button, which lets you adjust the scan area for small documents of photos. On the same screen you should also be able to select A4/Letter.

If you post a screen shot of the scan-window on the PC, we should be able to help further.

Edit: I noticed Ramin's link gives the same information, plus a screenshot for selecting the ADF.

"Also if you put the original down on the glass, it will scan/copy but only a half of the page. "

Obviously, it is a hardware failure and you need to call service for a repair.

@Jackie

As I explained, it may simply be that the scanning app is set to scan a small area. The flatbed can be set to scan any area up to full page. Most scanners let you do that.
