Radii graphic attatched to first character of new file name (SharePoint)

We are seeing this graphic attached to the first character of a file name in SharePoint. What do you call this? Is anyone else seeing  it? Example: new file name

Are these newly uploaded file? There is a small gif that indicates when a file is new. Maybe the "New" gif has been replaced with this gif, which appears to be the "wait" gif.

Good luck...

I kept thinking that I recognized that graphic! We're way out of my "wheelhouse". How does the "wait" gif wind up displayed with the first character of the file name? Thank you for giving me a toehold on this phenomenon. I will do some more  investigating and report back.

As Walter Curtis has rightly guessed, these "eye-lashes" are the new symbols for a new file. Thanks again, Walter.
