An Outlook 2016 user mistakenly chose to delete all occurrences of a reoccurring calendar appointment that was set for 8 AM everyday.
We use Office 365 to host our email.
Now we don't see any sign of this deleted appointment within the users Outlook calendar, within the deleted items folder, or if we click on the "Recover items recently removed from this folder" option within the deleted items folder.
What other methods can we use for finding this missing calendar appointment?

I have deleted Calendar appointments before and they go to Deleted Items. If not there, they must have also been deleted from there is which case they are gone.
If user deleted recently, you should see that in deleted or recovery folder. If you don't find in both folder, it is gone and cannot be recovered anymore. If you were using On-premises Exchange server, you have a chance to restore from backup. But in Office 365 case, that option is not available.
