Controlling Data on unbound form

There are sometimes when we are required to use unbound forms to enter data in tables for example:

(1) Companies details
(2) Authorizing documents

Now suppose we want to make sure that some of the controls are mandatory , then which event can we use?

I have tried the before update it does not work  nor before insert

Hi,

the before update event can happen on the form or on the control level.
The control's before update event can be an option.

Also, most of the time, forms with unbound controls have clickable buttons or images somewhere wich more or less act as an "Ok" or "Cancel" button.
Performing the data validation on the button's click event is also a good option.

In general, you to be extremly carefull when mixing bounds and unbounds controls, as managing them correctly tend to quikly give headeachs.
