iOS: Office for iPad® and iPhone® requires iOS 10.0 or later. Office for iPad Pro™ requires iOS 10.0 or later.

When you purchased your Office 365 subscription, have you read the requirements above?

If no, if your iPad cannot run iOS 10, you only way us to trade in your old iPad with a new one, but it depends on which iPad version you have.
