LSI Storage Authority management software with VMWare

Hi

Has anyone installed the LSI Storage Authority management package for use with a LSI RAID card on a VMWare host box?  The user guide (dated November 25, 2015) is a bit thin on details.

Am using vSphere version 6.0.

Thanks!

Yes, it's painful, and very rarely works!

Well, at least they're consistent from previous packages. :)  Is there any documentation on it?  Would like to try regardless.

Interesting; do the OEMs have the opportunity to tweak the firmware?

This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

Oh yes!

LSI just supple the chip, and then the OEM's can change the firmware completely!

Hm.  That sure has implications on firmware upgrades, then.  Complicates another project I have for 9260-8i cards.  Shoot.

The LSI Storage Authority package isn't the old Megaraid Storage Manager just rebranded, is it?

It's the re-invention of the  Megaraid Storage Manager

Sigh.  Will contact Broadcom and see if they have a complete set of instructions on getting it going.  Don't put much hope in that, but at least it can't be worse than the old MSM package. ;-)

Thanks much!
