HP Laserjet Printers - prints slow

hi experts,

I have setup 3 network printers connected to the server and they print slow one job at a time. I do have a color printer and that printer prints fast there is no delay like the other printers. Is there a setting for that?

Since there are 3 printers involved, I would look at drivers and full print spools second. First, do they have enough memory or is that what is slowing down the printers.

I second John's comments.  See how much memory is in the printers, and if it is less than 128 MB, install more memory.  Memory is cheap.

Printing grayscale on an 8.5x11 page at 300 DPI requires 90,000 * 8.5 * 11 = 8.5 MB per page.  CMYK color requires 4x that, or 34 MB per page.  600 DPI requires 4x that, or 136 MB per page.  It does not take long to fill up the printer's internal memory at that rate, and once that occurs the printer must print a page before accepting more.

It's also possible that the problem printers are just simply slower than your color unit.  If all the printers are identical then this is clearly not the case; but if they are different, then it is comparing apples to oranges.

the printers were working fine on the old server 2008 but that server was replaced with the new server 2016. i'll take a look at the drivers for it because yes it's so so slow in printing and these ladies print reports and it prints one or two pages then pauses and then shoots out a few more then it pauses again...
