Un-installed Fire Fox are all bookmarks and others files gone?

FF revamped their browser in recent days and the "fancy" improvements ruined the user experience. So I removed it from my system. Not thinking that I'd lose the bookmarks. There were not many but a few. Are they lost?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It probably didn't remove the firefox profile.

Look in your user profile for them - for example, on my computer it's in:
C:\Users\leew\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cwpebanw.default\bookmarkbackups

Unless you specifically answered "yes" to the question about removing your bookmarks, they are still there.  The issue is common enough, apparently, that Mozilla has a web page dealing with the question.

There are two bookmarkbackup folders. One is empty and the other has 7 items which are not recognizable as anything.

Maybe they will be restored if I re-download FF?

If you re-install Firefox it SHOULD recognize the existing profile and show you your bookmarks.

You may also be able to import them into Chrome or another browser (I install Chrome and Firefox on all systems and always have them available - there are times where one doesn't work properly on a web site and you may need to use another, aesthetics aside.
