Windows 10 version 1709 not installed, but 16299
Had an alert this morning "Windows feature update".  We googled it and found that the latest to be installed November is version 1709.

Just finish the update install and when we do System Information, we get "Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299".

Wasn't it supposed to be 1709? (ran check update and it just there waiting endless-look)

Is this correct? Why 1709 wasn't the version installed?

Yes winver displays: Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.64)

Why System Information just displays "16299", no "1709"? strange.

The 16299 is just the OS build like software when it changes the build changes too. So they could push out Version 1709 build 16299.19 then 16299.64.

What you saw in System Info is just the way it displays. Same on my machines here.

Strange.  Should say the same version in both apps.

Thanx

Thanks, Yes - I agree, but then the different branches of Microsoft do not always do the same thing.
