error msg " server has not yet been opened"

i got this msg when preview the report(cystal report 8.5) after i change the server n database SQL server 2012 express

Are the SQL Server versions the same in the old and the new servers?

Also check if the same credentials work for old and new SQL Server databases. If they are different you need to provide the new credentials.

Did you change the database connection?
You need to use the 2012 database drivers
Are you connecting with ODBC?

I suspect CR 8.5 cannot connect to SQL 2012.  I know at one time you couldn't use CR  with SQL 2000
There were some restrictions on the express editions at one time.

You'll need to have SNAC 2012 to be able to connect to SQL Server 2012 version database. You can download it from here.
