SQL 2017 SSAS installation failes

hi,

any one instlaled SQL 2017 SSAS ? the full installation always show me the starting of SSAS failed.

it seems starting from SQL 2016 it has  this problem and the only way to fix SQL2016 is to add right by DBA to the SSAS folder, then uninstall SQL 2016 SSAS and reinstall it.

any idea?

Yes I have installed SQL Server 2017 CTP Version without any issues.

What issues are you facing? Could you please provide me screenshot.

it just said SSAS failed to start. same as the SQL 2016 problem! but I can solve that SQL 2016 by assign permission on SSAS folder, and then reinstall SSAS, it doesnt' work on SQL 2017 developer edition.

you can try to uninstall the CTP1 and then try developer edition.

when I start the SSAS service again and the application log has this, same as the SQL 2016 developer edition:

The service cannot be started: The following system error occurred: A required privilege is not held by the client.

What OS and hardware are you using ? DO you have anything installed earlier < Any SQL version > ?

Check this for SQL 2016 - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/sql-server/install/hardware-and-software-requirements-for-installing-sql-server

I post this before and this is for the time when i start the SSAS myself:

The service cannot be started: The following system error occurred: A required privilege is not held by the client.

it just said installation failed form the installation UI so I need to manually start the SSAS and see what error it gives, and this is it.

What is not clear is that you have not installed SQL server 2017 so why it is saying that the service cannot be started.
