Apple iPHone 6S - IOS 11.1 - I'm receiving spam/phishing emails on my phone that I'm NOT getting on my pc

Hi:
I'm getting spam emails on my iPhone Hotmail inbox but they are not showing up on my desktop or on any other device.
These iPhone spam emails are nowhere to be found on my desktop, not even in my spam folder.
I'm suspecting that my iPhone is infected with some sort of virus.
I want to ensure my iPHone has no virus. What do I do?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It is not likely your phone has a virus .. and the issue you describe does not sound like a virus but more like a difference in settings between the email account on your iPhone and other devices for viewing emails.  IT is NOT possible to send an email to one device only if multiple devices have the same Hotmail account so a virus would not be an explanation.
1. Check in the Settings : Mail Accounts and ensure you don't have other email accounts setup on your iPhone. Are you 100% sure these spam emails are coming to your HOTMAIL account?
2. Assuming you only have 1 email account setup on the iPhone and it’s the Hotmail one then you should check you're not using a POP email connection as that may be loading the spam emails and clearing them from the other devices so that they are not appearing elsewhere,  Alternatively you may have a spam filter or junk email rule on Outlook which hides or deletes emails on your PC but which still allows the same emails to load on your iPhone.  As iOS Mail has no configurable spam or junk rules you need to change settings on Hotmail.com website to pre-filter at source.

It would be much more secure for you to do full Phone backup then reset it to factory default, then setup again.
It's hard work especially if you have a lot of application installed but this will give you comfort to do this right and you can get rid of some garbage you have on the phone now and you're not using.

Are these Text Messages?   If so, block them and they should stop. That is what I do.
