Thanks

Yes, but temporarily it will affect all fonts in Excel.  Provided you have saved a workbook prior to making the changes you can revert all the other fonts afterwards by loading that. Start with a small change (Excel defaults to 11pt for normal use).

What version of Windows?  With the latest version of Windows 10 you can set the scale factor. 125% on my high resolution works very nicely for Excel and all Office and most other applications.

Hi Masq,
The suggestion in the link doesn't work for me. When I reopen the workbook it still shows a big
font for all cells and formula bar. The are linked by the sounds of it.

Hi John,

I am using Win 8.1.  I often have to edit long formulas and results in eyestrain.
On the other hand I need to display as many rows and columns as possible so size 11 works fine.
At the moment I copy the formulas to a notepad and edit them that way.

You need to use the Excel tools to adjust fonts but that may adjust other aspects as well. Less choice with Windows 8 or 7

It appears nothing can be done for WIN OS other than 10.

Older systems require text size changes in individual applications

Can I change one worksheet where font size for formula bar is say 18 and cells remain at 11  ?
If that is possible then what are the steps ?
Thanks

I followed the instructions on the link and it doesn't work. I did comment on that earlier.

When you open the older workbook (saved before the changes - not one open when making the changes) everything is still too big?
Which version of Excel are you using in 8.1?
