Rds 2012: renew public cert, globalsign?

Hi,

The certificate for our rds brokers expired (brokers behind F5 loadbalancer).
How can I renew them?  Was looking for a step by step guide.

Thanks,
J

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The cert is installed on the rds or on the F5?

You have to order new one, you can use the same cert key and request and purchase new certificate. The best is to buy new certificate a few days before old one will expire. You can order new one in the same place when you had old one and they may have you cert request and you will not have to install ca bundle certificate.

Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

Olgard, that's the whole point of my question: howto do that? It's like I would ask a question "howto get to Britain", you tell me "well, take a boat" (at least if you're not from Britain).

Found something here but I guess that's for a new certificate: https://ryanmangansitblog.com/2013/03/11/creating-a-san-certificate-for-rds-2012/

Would need to have the procedure for a renewal.  If the procedure is to request a new one, then I'd like to know if the values or correct, f.e. request format, template etc.

You cant do a renewal for a SAN cert.  You will need to request for a new one.  The Link you provided is a good step by step which you can follow.  Values are correct.
