SCOM migration

We're going to "migrate" SCOM 2012  to SCOM 2016,but SCOM 2012 is in some kind of experimental state(not full production)
SO, we're plan to deploy a parallel infrastructure (New Management 2016 Group).
Uninstall 2012 SCOM agents on servers.
Install 2016 SCOM agents
Decommission SCOM 2012.
Configure SCOM 2016.
Is it posible to "migrate" this way?
Any advice,hint...would be appreciated.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes that is the best way, it is one among like normal monitoring tool you remove the existing agents, uninstall SCOM 2012 and install SCOM 2016 and push the new agents.
