I'm aware in SharePoint permissions are list based, however I'm looking for some trick or way to segregate the permissions of lists items.<br />

For example, we have volunteers and they are only to be assigned to specific list data (not all). I know this can't be done directly but I'm looking for a trick to do it.<br />
<br />
Also, I know Views could be used to do this partially (i.e. using [Me] variable), however it is not secure way of doing it.<br />
