Can email addresses be used to identify individuals in Skype free version?

What do you mean by "identify"? As in, find the person at all? Or at a unique identifier for usernames you already have listed as "friends"?

If you simply want to see the person's email instead of the Display Name (Usually their real name), you should be able to just rename the contact on Skype to whatever you want it to be.

1. I am an internet radio broadcaster. For nearly six years I hosted a successful internet radio show on VoiceAmerica. I am now creating an internet radio broadcasting system of my own.

2. For a broadcasting system such as the one I am creating, a vital function is being able to reliably identify Guests.

3. A problem I have encountered and am unable resolve is exemplified by the way in which some Skype users identify themselves with this format "my_name" . In one real instance I attempted to connect with an individual who used the format. I wanted to offer this individual an opportunity to be a Guest on my new show. I found some 10 occurrences of the potential Guest's "my_name".  The only way I could identify the individual was to send a contact request to all 10 of the occurrences. This is time consuming and possibly even risks a breach of privacy and security.

4. What I need is unique identifier for each Guest. The nearest thing to a unique identifier is the individual's email address.  

5. I lack the skills needed to devise for use in Skype free  version a way of identifying individuals by the email addresses they voluntarily provide to me.

6. What do you suggest, please?
