TSM exchange backup fail "ACN0520E Failed to connect to Local DSMAGENT Node "

Hi everyone:
                        i have an error on my exchange 2010  tsm backup. From the tsm server side the error is:

    Schedule Name                                Node Name             Status
     -------------                                              -------------                ---------
     VWARCOSVXMBX01_EXC       VWARCOSVXMBX_EXC    Failed 418

Whe i try to run a full backup manually to the exchange DB , the fail message is the following:

ACN0520E Failed to connect to Local DSMAGENT Node 'VWARCOSVXMBX01_PRX' at address:port 'VWARCOSVXMBX01:32508'. Verify that the TSM Client Acceptor Daemon (CAD) is installed, configured, and running properly., ACN5060E A Tivoli Storage Manager API error has occurred.

Pease can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi Santiago

Could be a few things, but verify the following;

1.  The client side client acceptor daemon (CAD) is running
2.  If running, check there are no errors in the application event logs for this service
3.  Try sopping and starting the CAD

The CAD is the process that your server talks to when it wants to initiate the backup.  If it can't do that the backup will not take place.

It's a starter for 10.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers, JP
