windows 8 issues and OS change
i have one old laptop with windows 8 with all its issues. it keep on trying to update and gives some eror and restarts almost daily making tough to work with it. how do i updgrade to windows 9 or 10 for free. i have windows xp cd i can down grade as long as drivers do not mes up. please advise

You can do a Windows 8 Reset. This keeps all your data, drivers and basic Windows 8 apps. This basically reinstalls Windows 8 and you should be able to make it work correctly and update properly.
Then restore your applications.
You can upgrade to Windows 10, but you need to pay for the license.

i can only say that i upgraded last week 2 pc's from win7 to 10 and both were activated without a problem

I have windows XP licenced CD. Can i go back to windows XP which might be better OS than windows 7 right?

XP is dead - don't go back there. Get Windows 10 from the Microsoft Store as posted above.
