I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Is protected that's why you can't see it...
You have 2 options :
1. root your phone...well it has the drawback of invalid warranty...if you have already rooted it then use ES Explorer and check to show the hidden files..
2. connect your phone and "download" the protected files with the use of ADB Tools....well it's not that straightforward...but i have tried it myself and i was successful...i am afraid i will have more info on Monday because i have the files on another PC.
Nothing else works...except in rare cases...

I am sure ADB will not help you.

If you are finding your current connected wifi password, you will not ask this question. You should know it.

ADB cannot help to find the ones which you have stored previously for locations other than your home or workplace.

In short, you need to root your phone.
