Is protected that's why you can't see it...
You have 2 options :
1. root your phone...well it has the drawback of invalid warranty...if you have already rooted it then use ES Explorer and check to show the hidden files..
2. connect your phone and "download" the protected files with the use of ADB Tools....well it's not that straightforward...but i have tried it myself and i was successful...i am afraid i will have more info on Monday because i have the files on another PC.
Nothing else works...except in rare cases...

The suggestions offered including my own require rooting the phone.
THe 2nd option does this WITHOUT rooting...i have done it myself on my OWN phone

I tried everything on the net.(without root)
But still can't back-up and see my Wi-Fi passwords
Before I could see the device maps in root with Es File explorer, now it says the device does not support it.
Normaly you could do it on adb with the command adb pull /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf c:/wpa_supplicant.conf
