rest webservices stateless and allow cache

i was reading below link

what it mean  by

rest web services stateless and allow caching
how stateless allows to cache webservice responses?
how caching is related to statelessness of http?
please advise

Hi gudii9,

HTTP is a stateless protocol but still we can maintain state by some techniques such as cookies, URL rewriting and hidden forms. See this link https://www.ntu.edu.sg/home/ehchua/programming/webprogramming/HTTP_StateManagement.html

Once you have the state then you can provide caching also.
Imagine a request made by a client for some service, the first time you do the processing needed to send the response but the next time you can skip that processing by maintaining a cache (provide the response still remains same).
