Office 365: change send from address

Hi,

I'm migrating from gmail to Office 365 but do not want to change the from address in office365 mail because I might not migrate after all (hate the way things are hidden and just can't seem to make it work as I want for now).
So I found these links:

link: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Send-email-from-a-different-address-ccba89cb-141c-4a36-8c56-6d16a8556d2e?wt.mc_id=o365_portal_mmaven&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

but I simply cannot change the from address or add an alias to my @gmail.com address.

Pls advise.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You cannot add aliases for domains you dont own, so obviously no gmail. What you can do however is configure it as "connected account" which allows you to expose this functionality. So this will enable me to send in my office365 webmail to send as my myaccount@gmail?

Yes, once you add it a new section will appear in OWA settings, allowing you to configure the default send address and you can set the @gmail one as default.
