Need to choose a fax number for my business card

I want to use my single land-line as a dual use phone/fax, where the beep of an incoming fax triggers the HP to receive the fax. How do I do this?

Sending faxes is not issue.

With this arrangement, I can fax send/receive for free, which is the goal. But, if I am out of town, I need to redirect the faxes so I can read them, remotely.

In this case, and can not get at my fax machine, I am okay using an outside fax service, where I may pay a large amount of money per page.

How can I configure this? I use Verizon, but am at a loss at how to redirect the fax calls, on demand.
