I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You are not going to be able to change the icon in nlb.exe.  That is a Microsoft file.  If you could make changes, it would invalidate and most likely break the file.

Why would you want to change the icon of a Windows system file?

"yes" what?  I didn't ask a question that could be answered with a "yes" or "no".

I asked WHY would you want to change the icon of a Windows system file.

Scott CSenior EngineerCommented:
No, it's not possible.  You could create a shortcut to the file and specify an icon in there, but to actually modify the file and change the icon, no, you cannot do that.
